Vellum runs on your own machine. Sealing, signing, verifying and reading a record happen locally. If you use extraction, your document is sent to Anthropic under your own API key, and no Sedge5 service is in that path.

The hash it prints should match the one above, ignoring case. If it does not, do not run the file.

What Windows will say

This build is not code-signed. Windows may show a blue “Windows protected your PC” panel when you run it; the installer is reached through “More info”, then “Run anyway”. We publish the hash above so you can confirm what you have without relying on that panel.

Installing

The installer needs no administrator rights and installs for the current user only, to %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Vellum. Your settings and sealed records live in %APPDATA%\Vellum and survive reinstalling.

Vellum checks for a newer version only when you ask it to, under Help → Check for Updates. It never checks on startup.
